Born and raised in Portland, Oregon, USA. Bachelor's degree, 1974: The Colorado College, Colorado Springs, USA, with coursework in Geology, History, Politics, German, Spanish and Latin-American Studies. 1976 - 1983: Studied at University of Regensburg, Bavaria, Germany (M.A. English/Linguistics) 1978 - 2008: English teacher in Regensburg and Deggendorf, Bavaria, Germany (secondary school, Foreign Language Institute, vocational school, adult education) 1978 to present: Freelance translation, editing and proofreading of English texts, US/UK graduate school counseling for non-native English speaking applicants (consultation and writing help with Personal Statements), Job Applications (resume/CV, cover letters). 1993 to present: Continual involvement with secondary school exchanges to Denver, Colorado (US); Erasmus Student Mobility exchanges within the EU. 1999 to present: English lecturer and Faculty Staff Member, University Women´s Representative at the University of Applied Science, Deggendorf, Bavaria, Germany. Main course subjects and interests: Business English, Writing and Communication Skills, English for International Tourism, Technical English for Engineers and Applied Physics, Conversation Skills. Personal note: Married to a German Gymnasium English/History teacher for over 30 years; raised three young men, all of whom are university educated and achieving Diplom (M.S. degree) or a Phd. in professional subject areas ranging from Statistics and Mathematics to Environmental Science/Hydro-Geology to Music/Sound Production and Engineering.
